1_13_composite hearts bg

These were design/composite practice.  I was only going to upload the heart designs, but I thought the background textures might be useful.  I have a larger zip file for site supporters that contains both sets.  Please leave a comment if you'd like the large file.

Recent Photomanips

Due to the stock providers' terms, I don't have permission yet to post these images directly on Encompass Rose Design. So I'm posting thumbnails that link to my DeviantArt Gallery. Photo credits can be found on the DA pages.

Challenge Entry and Extras

I joined a new forum this weekend.  It looks like a nice place.  Sort of small and cozy, like the forums I used to belong to back in my RPG days.

Here's a link if you're interested.

http://www.psp-art-studio.com/viewforum.php?f=29

As the name indicates, it's a Paint Shop Pro users group.

I decided to make an entry for one of their challenges.  The problem was, I am not used to working with small file sizes anymore.  (100kb or less is the max image size you can post.)  So, here I was with a nice hi-res collage going "Oh, wait..." and trying to crop, resize, and compress the thing.

I ended up turning into a header, since I usually save those as .jpg for loading time, but the text on the JPG version looked awful after compression.

Well, long story short:

Here's a bunch of resizings and pieces of it.  Free to use for anything non-commercial.  Commercial licensing on this is available; please contact me by email.

I've included the background.  That is 14x14" @ 300 dpi.  The rest is probably best for web use rather than print.

Photomanip: The Rescue/Messages

This was originally going to be a contest entry, but I didn't finish it in time.  The image and idea stayed with me, though, and I liked it so much that I made some free web graphics to go with it.  Take and use the banners for whatever you like. (Links back are appreciated.)  The original photomanipulation is just for viewing, please don't reupload and use that.

This is a design blog, and I want to keep it that way.  The Rescue isn't an overtly religious or spiritual piece, but it has spiritual significance to me.

Labels

While I am not "someone's grandfather" or "someone's brother", every one of these labels has been applied to me before. The fact that a lot of them blatantly contradict one another is, to me, indicative of the nature of prejudice and assumptions.

Please do not edit this, but feel free to take and share it if you agree with it. Post it on your blogs, websites, facebook pages, whatever you want. You don't have to credit me, but I would appreciate it if you did.

Note: I know that the phrase "one of them" appears twice.

Recent Artwork: Photomanips And Blends

These are my first real attempts at photomanipulation in about 8 years, unless you count a couple of fandom-related ones that I don't have anymore.  Who knows what I'll think of them in a couple of years, but I like them right now.
